Youth Literacy Initiative

The Youth Literacy Initiative is a vital project by PESAP aimed at empowering pastoralist youth through improved literacy. This initiative leverages community-based classes and innovative mobile learning units to reach remote areas, ensuring that even the most isolated youth have access to quality education. Since its inception in May 2022, the program has made significant strides in increasing literacy rates and fostering community development in the arid regions of Northern Kenya. By combining traditional teaching methods with mobile technology, PESAP is bridging the educational gap faced by pastoralist communities, helping young people unlock new opportunities and contribute to their community’s resilience and growth.
