The Water Harvesting and Management project is a vital initiative aimed at enhancing water security for pastoralist communities in drought-prone areas of Northern Kenya. Through innovative rainwater harvesting systems and water conservation techniques, the project seeks to provide sustainable access to clean water, thereby improving livelihoods and resilience against climate variability. Since its inception in November 2021, the project has successfully installed multiple rainwater harvesting tanks and promoted community-led water management practices. This effort aligns with PESAP’s broader mission to support education and environmental sustainability among pastoralist populations.
